Good Samaritan Rescue Mission
Bro. Tom Murphrey began Good Samaritan Rescue Mission in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1953 to help homeless men and women rebuild their lives so they can become productive citizens, again. The mission is the largest in the south with overnight facilities, and they serve over 500 meals a day.
Bro. Buddy Murphrey and his wife, Carole, are the second generation running the mission. These two have such a heart for the homeless, so we are privileged to be a part of this great organization.
Paul and Billie have known Buddy and Carole for many years, and Paul serves on the board of Good Sam. We are honored to financially be a part of this ministry every month.
Good Sam provides services for the people who come for help:
- • Second Hand Store (Clothing)
- • Labor Force (Jobs)
- • ID Assistance
- • Chapel Services (Worship Services for everyone)
- • Support Network (Homeless Issues Partnership)
- • Coffee House
- • Good Sam Park (A safe place to rest)
