December 2022 update

December 2022 is just about to end, and we will find ourselves in the year 2023.  Whew!  What a fast year!  The older I get, the faster life seems to go.

Bob and Shelly Kummer flew to the ranch to spend a few days with us.  Then, Paul and I and the Kummers drove to New Orleans, with a stop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to have lunch with our dear friends, Rick and Carolyn Cappo.  Rick and Carolyn have been faithful friends since the late 70s; they are friends for a lifetime, as are the Kummers.

We were in New Orleans for Achiever’s Week (World Wide Dream Builders). It’s always great to see our friends in the business, have a meal with them, and especially enjoy the food in NO.

Paul and Kara Rable rode back to the ranch with us. This couple is from Canada and is so precious.  We loved our time with them. We were blessed to have them spend Family Christmas with us on the 9th.

Paul started having problems with his ears while we were in NO, and is just now feeling back to normal.  He’s not a good patient!!!  He does not like being sick, to say the least.

Christmas with the family was wonderful.  Gretchen and Megs were down from Mansfield.  Thom, Kelley, Kadie, Cody, and Shelby were here.  Paul and Melanie also came, along with Marlee and Will.  Jon, Emily, and Jaylen were also here.  Zeke, Paxton, and Teagan came by for a few hours before heading to a wedding.  We really missed Shane, Marissa, Daniel, Brydie, Joshua, Malory, Ethan, Allie and Ace, Demetri, Kaleigh, Conner, Jake, Kait, Blakeley, and Brentley.  Yes, our family has grown…..to 37, with two on the way in 2023.   And who knows how many more?

Yes, our little Byrdie was born on Meagan’s birthday, December 9th.  Such and blessing and a joy for Meagan.  A great Christmas present.

We had a Community Christmas Crawl on the 17th.  Kadie and Kelley decorated our golf cart.  Kadie and I (Paul was still feeling under the weather) drove to three houses for eats and drinks (coke), then everyone came to our house for dessert.  It was such a joy to meet new friends from the neighborhood.  We are believing God will allow us to have a healing influence in this community. We have fallen in love with the neighbors we have already met.

CHRIST….MAS!  The only reason for the season is Christ.  It’s not ‘happy holidays’ because the reason for celebrating this time of year is Christ’s birth.  There would be NO holiday apart from this glorious event.  So, rejoice, rejoice!  Yes, we have reason to rejoice.
