As I think about the New Year
And what it holds for me
I think about the past year
And all that I should see
I see both strengths and weakness
With all I had to do
And all that I would accomplish
To see my dreams come true
This year will not be like the past
I know it will be the best
But there will always be opposition
And my faith put to the test
So, I choose to be a stream of life
Like the rivers that reach the ocean
My legacy will not be what I leave behind
But what I choose to set in motion
I’ll set in motion a legacy
Empowering others to succeed
And know when life is over
I’ll have done life’s greatest deed
